Summers Strategies is excited to announce that Phoebe Sweet will join the firm as a Vice President. Sweet is currently the Director of Speechwriting at the Center for American Progress (CAP). Prior to joining CAP, Sweet was Sen. Harry Reid’s speechwriter and communications advisor. In addition to serving as part of Summers Strategies’ leadership team, Sweet will lead the firm’s in-house work at the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence.
“Phoebe is a smart strategist, a gifted writer, and someone who has devoted her career to making the world a better place. I’m excited to have Phoebe join the firm and thrilled to be working with her again,” said Summers Strategies founder Jon Summers.
“Working for a mission-driven organization like Summers Strategies with clients who share our values is so important to me,” Sweet said. “I’m especially looking forward to helping the Brady Campaign achieve its goal of cutting gun deaths in half by 2025.”
Summers Strategies works with national nonprofit organizations, trade associations, government agencies, elected officials and progressive political candidates on communications strategy, media relations, marketing and advertising.
Sweet’s first day at Summers Strategies will be January 19.
